The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has revealed that the total cost to develop and maintain its downloadable eTax product since 2006 has been $45 million, in response to an inquiry from ZD Net. The figure includes the cost of developing its mac-compatible version of the software, which will be available for the first time this year.
Chief Information Officer at Fire and Rescue NSW Richard Host has explained to The Australian that his agency’s migration to a cloud-based email platform will be based upon the Microsoft Office 365 product. The Western Australian Department of Education has signed a five year software licensing deal with Oracle, worth $16.8 million. The deal will include the “rationalisation and modernisation of Oracle licences and associated support and maintenance subscriptions currently provided under the Department of Education’s contract ETP052/2003”.
