Analyse IT User Guide

Welcome to Analyse IT online, your guide to Federal Government ICT contracting activity.

Using Analyse IT

From the Analyse IT homepage you can drill directly through the table into the detail of contracting arrangements of key ICT suppliers to government or navigate to your area of interest using the links in the menu bar.

There are five main avenues to view the data in Analyse IT:

  • Key Suppliers
  • Contract Totals
  • Contract Details
  • Contract Analysis
  • Standing Offer Notices

Key Suppliers

Key Suppliers can be viewed as ‘Contract Values’ for all financial years back to 2007-08 or as a ‘Chart’ for the current financial year.

From the Contract Values table you can click directly through the values to see the contracts that make up that value.

From Chart you can Alt-clicking on the segment of interest (hold down the Alt key and left-click with the mouse) to see the contracts that make up that segment.

Once you have a list of contracts you can click on the contract title to see more information on a particular contract or use the ‘Export to Excel’ link in the top left corner of the report to generate an excel version of this report. 

Contract Totals

Contract Totals can be viewed by category or you can search for a specific contract total using date range, category, sub-category, supplier and agency filters.

From the Contract Totals table you can click on a Category name to see a table of the Sub-categories  that make up this Category. Click on a value within this table to the contracts that make up that value.

From the Search form enter your search criteria and press submit to generate a specific contract total. Please note Contract date range search functions search for contracts by their start date. Also be aware that Supplier is a required field. If you wish to search for contracts relating to all suppliers please enter ALL into this field.  Click on a value within this table to the contracts that make up that value.

Once you have a list of contracts you can click on the contract title to see more information on a particular contract or use the ‘Export to Excel’ link in the top left corner of the report to generate an excel version of this report. 

 Contract Details

In this view you can search for contracts by using date range, category, sub-category, supplier and agency filters. Enter your search criteria and press submit to generate a list of contracts that meet these criteria. Please note Contract date range search functions search for contracts by their start date. Also be aware that Supplier is a required field. If you wish to search for contracts relating to all suppliers please enter ALL into this field.

Once you have a list of contracts you can click on the contract title to see more information on a particular contract or use the ‘Export to Excel’ link in the top left corner of the report to generate an excel version of this report. 

Contract Analysis

Contract Analysis provides three graphical views of the number and value of Federal Government ICT contracts by:

  •          Financial Year and Quarter
  •          Category (and Sub-Category – Alt-click on the category bars for the Sub-Category view)
  •          Largest ICT Contracting Agencies

SONs

SONs can be viewed in a summary table of total numbers of SONs by category, sub-category and multi-agency access. Or you can search for individual SONs by agency, category and multi-agency access. These reports search for current SONs only (expired arrangements do not display). 

The agency search function searches only on the primary agency for a SON. When you drill into SON detail you will see further links which will take you to a list of all suppliers or all agencies on this SON.

Once you have a list of SONs or a summary table of SONs you can use the ‘Export to Excel’ link in the top left corner of the report to generate an excel version of this report.
