NSW Government ICT Budget

budget IT - NSW  is Intermedium’s NSW Budget analysis tool.  It lists the ICT components of the NSW Government Budget and provides a significant level of detail about the ICT projects that the NSW Government has funded as part of its annual Budget process.

NSW Government ICT Budget Highlights for 2009-10

Budget IT - NSW provides all the following information and much more in its 2009-10 edition:

  • NSW General Government Sector has ICT CapEx of $604m,
    • 132 projects, 37 new projects;
    • At the time of the NSW Budget announcement, 7 projects were due for imminent tender and were estimated by Intermedium to be worth $64m.
  • NSW Public Trading Enterprise Sector has ICT CapEx of $256.4m,
    • Within this, the newly created Commercial Government Sector had CapEx of $248.1m (represented by four projects in the key electricity utilities).

    • NSW Super Department name;
    • NSW Agencies within the NSW Super Department;
    • NSW Portfolio and Minister;
    • Total NSW Super Department budget ($m);
    • Total NSW Super Department operating budget ($m);
    • Total NSW Super Department capital budget ($m);
    • All ICT capital budget items with the verbatim NSW Super Department description and value ($m) as listed in the NSW Budget;
    • Estimated value of the ICT component of the NSW Super Department operating budget with the verbatim budget description and value ($m) as listed in the NSW Budget;
    • Total estimated NSW Super Department ICT expenditure broken down by constituent agency expenditure ($m);
    • Newly funded NSW Super Department ICT projects broken down into constituent agency projects; and
    • NSW Super Department ongoing ICTprojects  (therefore not likely to be contestable in the Budget year as they may already have an incumbent supplier).
