It’s been nearly a year since the landslide election and the expectation of major changes. The Coalition government has so far introduced a new ICT governance structure and drafted and released for consultation an ICT strategic framework for the state.
The NSW budget for 2011-12 allocated major investments in some quarters, and sought major savings in others, including a requirement for agencies to makes savings of around $6 billion over a four year period.
Coincidental with the savings measures in place, the deteriorating global economic climate will make returning the budget to surplus in 2012-13 an even greater challenge, requiring even deeper cost cutting by agencies.
By attending this briefing attendees will be given valuable insight into the following:
- What are the likely impacts of an economic downturn on budget funded projects? Will projects be delayed or deferred? Will projects that have commenced be safe?
- What are the likely opportunities and challenges arising from the new ICT strategic plan?
- What implications does the new ICT governance structure have for working with the NSW Government?
- How and where will the NSW Government require its agencies to look for additional cost savings if they are deemed necessary?
Who should attend:
- NSW State Managers;
- Account Managers;
- Marketing Managers; and
- Business Development Managers.
