scout IT- Four Procurement Forecasting Sources
Four Procurement Forecasting Sources
The online version of scout IT has four procurement forecasting sources. Each of these sources is represented in the dashboard interface and is described in more detail below:
Annual Procurement Plans
Both current and historical Annual Procurement Plans are available in the scout IT database. Sourced from AusTender, categorised and sub-categorised by Intermedium, with full tracking of changes in status.
Previous year Annual Procurement Plans give an indication of agency need at the time and as many fail to materialise as procurements in the open market, they can be a valuable source of information about ‘latent’ agency need. There is no other source of information about previous year procurement plans other than the Intermedium database.
Panel Contracts (Standing Offer Notices)
All expiring panel contracts, all agencies and whole of government. Sourced from AusTender, the panel contracts are categorised and sub-categorised by Intermedium.
First time offered in 2010-11, the expiring panel contract information is an important alert service for the industry as more and more procurement is done via panel contracts.
Expiring ICT panel contracts are not available for searching via AusTender by ICT category.
Tenders (Requests for Tender, Expressions of Interest and other Approaches to the Market)
Current and historical ICT tenders, sourced from AusTender and categorised and sub-categorised by Intermedium. A full ICT tender alert service is embedded in scout IT.
Historical ICT tenders are not available for searching in AusTender, so scout ITprovides the ideal means to establish if an agency has been to the market for a particular solution in the past.
Expiring ICT contracts
All expiring ICT contracts over $80,000, excluding labour hire, for the next 3 years. Sourced from AusTender, the ICT contracts in the scout IT database have been cleansed, de-duped, categorised and sub-categorised by Intermedium.
Previous ICT contracts can be an excellent predictor of future agency need, and an up to three year lead time provides the timeframe necessary to have dialogue with the agency prior to it setting its requirements.
