Judy Hurditch, Director
Since founding Intermedium in 2004, Judy has become a highly regarded specialist on the government marketplace. As an independent industry analyst, she has extensive knowledge about both federal and state jurisdictions, and a comprehensive knowledge of suppliers to governments.
Prior to her commercial sector experience, Judy spent almost twenty years in the public sector, predominantly in IT-related project management and business system roles. During this time, Judy managed major IT projects and procurements and was responsible for service delivery. These roles included senior executive service roles within the Australian Taxation Office as well as in a NSW government corporation, senior project roles as the precursor to Centrelink and senior project management roles at the Office of Asset Sales. Judy was a Deputy Commissioner of Taxation when she left the Australian Public Service. Judy has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
Tim Conway, Senior Associate
Tim's lengthy and strategic involvement in the ICT industry spans business development, consulting, lobbying and research services. His expertise lies in government relations and policy, with a comprehensive knowledge of industry associations.
His Government experience includes two years as an adviser to a senior Federal Minister. Tim is responsible for the ongoing development of Intermedium’s research programs and provides deep, insightful analysis of government procurement and budget trends.
Tim spent a number of years as Deputy Executive Director of the Australian Information Industry Association, where he dealt with government, both it its capacity as a policy-maker/regulator and as a major customer. As Director of Industry Affairs for Intellect, the UK equivalent of the AIIA, he addressed government relations and marketing issues across the UK and the EU, providing Intermedium clients with an opportune insight into overseas ICT practice and policy. Prior to joining Intermedium, Tim was responsible for Government Programs at Canon Australia.
Tim has degrees in Commerce and Law, and has completed post university courses in resource economics, quality management and business re-engineering.
Fleur Bayley, Senior Associate
Fleur has more than 25 years experience working within the IT industry having held various senior positions with a major industry association, multinational and Australian IT companies and also in government.
In these roles, Fleur has developed a detailed understanding of the Australian ICT industry, and of public sector procurement. She has been involved in many aspects of government markets, particularly in the ICT sector, including lobbying and industry policy. She has also been responsible for the facilitation of trade relationships on behalf of Australian and international companies, direct sales and pre-sales support.
Fleur joined Intermedium in 2006 and was involved in a range of marketing activities, including editing the weekly eNewsletter, the medium.
She has now since moved on to become one of Intermedium’s Senior Associates.
Fleur holds a Master of Business Degree from Curtin University (WA).
Peter Grant, Senior Associate
Peter is the former State Director of Microsoft. Before joining Microsoft he was the CIO for the Queensland Government, where he was responsible for building relations between government and industry, as well as growing agency capability in planning and deployment of Information Technology.
Previously Peter was a founding Director of Consulting for Gartner Australia and New Zealand. He built the consulting practices in Queensland and Canberra and led consulting Sales and Delivery in South East Asia.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Business and a Research Masters Degree in Information Systems. He holds positions of Adjunct Professor in the School Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland and in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Jane Treadwell
Jane has over ten years of experience as a Chief Information Officer, including as the Victorian Government’s Chief Information Officer where she was responsible for driving strategies to exploit information and communications technologies to achieve value for money and transform service delivery across the Victorian government.
Prior to this appointment, Jane worked in a number of senior executive roles across government including Deputy CEO for Business Transformation and Chief Information Officer in Centrelink, one of Australia’s largest service delivery organisations and the South Australian government in public sector reform, correctional services and public health.
Jane is recognised as a leader in e-business and organisational transformation, and was awarded Outstanding Achievement in the Role of CIO in March 2005 by The Australian.
She is now working as a Senior Consultant with the World Bank in its Global ICT Department; with a number of Australian government agencies in service transformation and ICT governance; and is a faculty member of the Institute of Public Administration of Australia, and as a Senior Associate with Intermedium.
Tom Tomlin, Senior Associate
Tom has specialised in Australian public sector information and communication technology for more than a decade.
After his arrival from the United Kingdom in 1996, Tom worked with Oracle, Business Objects and HP in their public sector teams. His experience extends across Database, Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management and Business Intelligence software solutions and their application in government. He is also deeply experienced with all aspects of ICT infrastructure provisioning in government, including outsourced services.
Tom has a degree in structural engineering from Newcastle University (UK). He spent six years in the Parachute Regiment before moving into the software industry. Here he gained experience with public sector applications for child protection, juvenile justice and schools management. During this time Tom also consulted to local authorities across the UK.
Before moving to Australia Tom served a four year term as an elected politician representing a seat in the north of England, giving him an excellent understanding of both the political level of government as well as the machinery of government.
Apart from his specialisation in ICT applications in government, Tom has deep experience and knowledge of the Victorian government ICT market.
Grantly Mailes, Senior Associate
Grantly has more than 15 years experience in government ICT, both from the “inside” and as an advisor. His career spans strategic consulting to operational roles, in both the public and private sectors.
He was the inaugural Chief Information Officer for the Government of South Australia where he was responsible for driving significant reforms in the delivery of services to the public through the strategic use of ICT. He was also responsible for a number of innovations in governance, procurement and standardisation.
Prior to joining the South Australian Government, he was the Technical Director of management strategy firm Booz Allen Hamilton, where he advised several Australian and overseas governments on the use of ICT to improve service delivery to citizens.
He is now working as a Senior Associate with Intermedium and works as a freelance consultant specialising in risk management in ICT projects. He chairs a number of government committees and holds a number of company directorships.
Tim Entwisle, Senior Associate
Tim is an experienced communications consultant and technical writer with wide background in the Government, not-for-profit and private sectors.
Tim has had several years consulting experience in England and Australia with varied clients from including corporate organisations, small business, government and not-for-profits. Tim’s NSW government experience extends across policy and service delivery agencies, as well as utilities.
A mix of senior management, project management and technical experience provides Tim with strong business communication and tender preparation skills. His project management background and extensive high level bid management includes the $100 million enhancement bid to fund water reforms in NSW.
Leading a communications team for a Government department Tim oversaw several major campaigns: the NSW Water Reforms, vegetation management and salinity. His team produced innovative and cost-effective communications products ranging from interactive websites to community consultation initiatives. He has also developed state-of-the-art research methods for stakeholder monitoring.
