The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) intends to regenerate its Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) process solution, releasing a Request For Tender (RFT) for a risk and WHS management system.
The current ABC solution, built in 2001, is ineffective in allowing users to raise, analyse and manage WHS processes to the level the organisation requires, including support for WHS Inspections, WHS Hazards, Risk Assessments, Insurance Management, and Workers Compensation Claim Management, according to the RFT.
The broadcaster argues that the current system limits “opportunities to efficiently measure and respond to a risk profile of an organisation that is always evolving and changing in terms of complexity and responsiveness.”
“The co-dependencies between both process and data requirements of the Risk Management, WHS, Insurance claims (including worker’s compensation), Audit, Compliance and Business Continuity functions highlights the requirement of a single software solution that minimises the double handling of data and supports the end to end processes of the ABC,” according to the RFT.
The ABC is seeking a solution that is:
- Highly mobile and able to be accessed globally;
- Able to exchange metadata with SAP HR, SAP Finance and Active Directory business systems; and
- Able to transfer data from current systems where possible.
Suppliers must lodge their tender application by 5 September 2014, the commencement of the contract will take place between December 2014 and January 2015.
