Biometrics use continues to face uphill battle

Home Affairs has approached the market for biometric identity-matching services, despite a bipartisan parliamentary committee rejecting enabling legislation three years ago. 

At Senate estimates, Greens Senator Nick McKim asked Home Affairs Secretary Michael Pezzullo about a current tender that included the creation of a Face Verification Service.
