The Victorian Government has recruited Michael McNamara to lead the state’s new digital transformation agency, Digital Victoria.

McNamara, whose home is in Victoria, is leaving his CIO role at Services Australia, which he has held since January 2019, leaving a consequential vacancy in the supervision of the federal government’s largest ICT operation.

Digital Victoria was established in November last year, with funding of $156.1 million allocated over four years in the 2020-21 Budget to centralise and simplify information technology services across the government.
