Subscriber preview

Department of Transport and Regional Services (DOTARS) has just listed an RFT for a contract to replace its existing IT outsourcing arrangement.

The contract is for Managed Services including helpdesk, desktop computer environment (including printers and peripherals), data network services, corporate datacentre, regional offices and executive support. This RFT replaces an existing four year outsourcing contract with Commander that began in July 2004.

DOTARS' approach is in contrast to a much smaller agency, Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) that continues its self-managed arrangement, preferring to source equipment and manage its environment using internal resources. This agency's most recent RFT is for supply and maintenance of servers desktops and laptops.
