Glenn Archer this afternoon announced his resignation as Australian Government Chief Information Officer, with effect as of Monday 3 February 2014. Via an email to astonished colleagues, he simply stated “I am leaving the APS on Monday 3rd February.  Farewell to everyone.” A spokesperson for the Department of Finance responded to Intermedium's query that "it had no comment on this matter".

In the coming days, Intermedium will seek to provide additional information regarding:
  1. Any potential changes to the current scope of the Chief Information Officer role;
  2. Glenn’s replacement in the immediate term; and
  3. What, if anything, this portends for the future of AGIMO more generally.
