Competition is strong for the NSW GSAS Information Asset Management Systems contract that closed on 13 November 2007. 23 companies have responded to the tender. Intermedium understands that a decision on the new panel is expected in February or March, after initially being expected in December.

Four companies (Objective, Filenet, Tower Software and Alphawest) were members of the previous panel contract, the four-year contract ITS 2323 'Records and Information Management Systems' panel period contract that was finalised in 2003.

The new panel differs from the previous one in that it calls for several levels of suppliers: one or two large head contractors, several specialist suppliers who can supply the full range of solutions, then a number of more specialised suppliers that may focus on just part of the requirements.

The list of companies responding to this, and other NSW Government contracts listed between 31 March and 31 December 2007 is available as part of the changes resulting from new guidelines for the information that agencies must publish for all tenders and contracts.
