Service NSW has settled one of its key leadership positions before the anticipated release of NSW’s inaugural whole-of-government (WofG) innovation strategy in May 2016, deciding to make Rachna Gandhi permanent head of the state’s WofG customer service agency.
Gandhi had been acting as Chief Executive Officer since November 2015 following the departure of Glenn King. According to her LinkedIn, this has now become a permanent position.
Substantial emphasis is expected to be placed on consolidating and innovating in 2016 after the final iteration of the 2012 WofG ICT Strategy – Digital + 2016 – selected several focus areas to “reimagine the role of government in the digital age.”
Service NSW is at the forefront of the nationwide movement towards comprehensive citizen centric government digital services, with services including digital licences, a wait-time monitoring app, and a ‘tell us once’ digital account.
Service NSW initiated its search for a new permanent CEO in mid-January 2016.
