The NSW Government’s Office of Finance and Services (OFS) has released an ‘IT Service Catalogue Trial Proposal (ITSCTP)’, asking relevant ICT Service Scheme suppliers to respond with ‘as a Service’ solutions for “Mobile Device Management (MDM) and/or Mobile Application Management (MAM).”

All applicants must be listed in the NSW ICT Service Scheme, sub-category “G01 – Other ICT Services, Mobile Devices including delivery as a Service.”

Solutions adhering to the criteria, which includes adherence to NSW’s Mobility Solutions Framework, will be submitted into the ICT Service Catalogue, an attempt by the NSW Government to “encourage Agencies to take up standards based service offerings rather than developing their own bespoke solutions.”

Respondents will demonstrate “relevant capacity, skills, expertise and industry knowledge. At least one reference must be included for the service proposed…”

NSW’s ICT Strategy and Cloud Service Police and Guidelines are both maneuvering the state towards ‘as a Service’ solutions. The Cloud Service document states: “NSW Government agencies will now be required to evaluate cloud‐based services when undertaking ICT procurements to determine the ICT delivery model that provides the best value sustainable investment, taking account of the full range of cost‐benefit considerations.”

The ICT Strategy states: “Delivering services though a whole-of-government service catalogue will leverage NSW Government purchasing power to secure the most effective pricing, and support consistent service delivery across government.”
