NSW Transport Issues New Corporate Plan

The NSW Ministry of Transport has published a Corporate Plan (2006 – 2010) that describes its directions, priorities and values for the next five years. It will be the basis for the development of business plans for the agency, but also provides indications of possible areas of opportunity.

This is a useful document for suppliers wishing to do business with NSW Transport. Whilst most of the plan is quite general, it does provide clues to possible areas of procurement. For example, one of the priorities set out in the plan is to introduce an electronic document and records management system – an obvious opportunity for suppliers in this segment of the market.

Another area of emphasis relates to the integration of transport planning, introduction of network plans and the co-ordination of transport infrastructure projects and programs. Perhaps there are clues here as to other areas of opportunity.
