Data #3 has said that in its first year as the Federal Government’s Microsoft Large Account Reseller, the contract generated around $81 million, or just under one-third of the total revenue of its software licensing division in 2008-09.

The NSW Government has opened applications for a second round of its Collaborative Solutions Program, which will offer $1 million in grants to consortiums developing mobile solutions for the state’s public sector.

The Victorian Government has launched an $85 million grants program to attract the ICT industry to the state, including the $11 million Digital Futures Fund, the $18 million Broadband-Enabled Innovation Program, and a scheme providing local ICT companies with funding to promote their products overseas.

The Queensland Department of Education and Training has invited tenders for a project manager to oversee the establishment of the QGov Online portal it has been given responsibility for. The QGov Online project aims to establish a government portal that is organised around a citizen’s view of government rather than departmental organisations, and employs a franchise model to allocate responsibility for 17 areas of customer interest.

The Australian Federal Police has recently published six individual contracts for a range of SAP products, worth more than $5 million overall. The procurement is likely to assist it in the roll-out of Program Hummer, its SAP business improvement project.

Andrew Greaves will become Queensland’s new Auditor-General as of 17 December 2011, and will take on a term of seven years. The outgoing Auditor-General, Glenn Poole, was originally appointed to the role in 2004.
