The Secretaries Information Governance Board (SIGB) has endorsed the draft ICT Strategic Vision released by AGIMO earlier this year, which means it will move on to being considered by a ministerial committee. The Board also discussed the need for a better view of the ICT project landscape to ensure that projects aligned to the draft ICT Strategic Vision direction.
The Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Service is looking to hire a new Chief Information Officer, and is offering a salary of up to $200,000 to the successful candidate. Applications close 9 December 2011.
Austrade is looking to recruit a Chief Technology Officer who will report directly to the current Chief Information Officer, Nils van Boxsel.

Work on a report on Queensland’s Government Information Technology Contracting (GITC) Framework is currently underway. The Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office has received 52 responses from stakeholder agencies, ICT industry bodies and ICT suppliers as part of a review of the Framework.

The NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell has urged all of the State Government’s agencies to close for a two-week period from Monday 26 December 2011 to Friday 6 January 2012 inclusive. The Christmas closedown will apply to all non-frontline government staff.
In response to a damning Ombudsman’s report into the State Government’s ICT Projects, the Victorian Government has said that under the current Coalition leadership all major ICT programs will come under the scrutiny of a recently formed high-value, high-risk unit within the Treasury.
“This process brings closer and more centralised scrutiny by Treasury of the ICT projects being undertaken by departments, consistent with recommendations made by the Ombudsman,” said statement.

- Housing Integrated Information Program – HIIP, Office of Housing
