The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) is calling for industry and agency ICT professionals involved in government procurement to participate in a survey of the Government Information Technology and Communications (GITC) 4.1 Contractual Framework. The survey process foreshadows likely changes to the framework in the near future.

The Department of Defence has signed a $5.6 million deal with HP through its Application Managed Services Partnership Arrangement (AMSPA). HP is in charge of the ICT Enablement domain under the breakdown of AMSPA services between members.
The Victoria Police has indicated its intention to procure $3.4 million worth of desktop PCs and notebooks from HP through the State’s whole-of-government panel, as part of the refresh of approximately 12,000 devices across the agency’s fleet.
South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill will today announce a major reshuffle of his Cabinet. The reshuffle follows the resignation of Health Minister John Hill, Transport Minister Patrick Conlon and Industrial Relations Minister Russell Wortley. It is understood that Minister for Finance and the Public Service Michael O’Brien –who has oversight of ICT – will take on the police, corrections, emergency services and road safety portfolios.
Fujitsu has secured a $2.6 million contract with the WA Department of Finance to supply wired and wireless campus networks, voice services, messaging and related infrastructure to the State’s PathWest and Cancer Centre heath research facilities.
The Department of Mines and Petroleum has spent $3.5 million to maintain its usage for Schlumberger Software, through a contract signed directly with the software developer.
