The Australian Taxation Office has signed a $6.8 million nine-month deal with Accenture for the provision of design, building, testing and implementation of its $68.5 million ‘Towards a better business future’ (TBBF) program designed to improve the operation of the Australian Business Register.
The Department of Defence is looking to outsource management of its software contracts to a single provider under a managed service delivery model, reports IT News. This will include major software suites from IBM, Oracle, SAP, Adobe, HP, Objective and Compuware, as well as the Department’s central IBM smart cloud control desk asset repository.
The Department of Human Services (DHS) has awarded a $14.6 million contract to Acer for IT hardware services through the whole-of-government panel for desktop hardware. The contract has a term of two months.
DHS has also signed a $2.8 million one-year contract with Fuji Xerox for the provision of printers and multifunction devices, through the whole-of-government panel for Major Office Machines.
The Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIICCSRTE) has awarded a $1.8 million two-month contract to Hewlett Packard Australia for the provision of virtual desktop infrastructure equipment and support.
The 2013-14 Queensland State Budget, due in June, will include an $8 billion deficit due to revenue falls from royalties, payroll and stamp duty, reports the Australian. This is a significant increase from the $4.6 billion deficit previously forecast.

The SA Water Corporation has contracted Velrada to upgrade its SharePoint 2007 software to the 2010 version and for the implementation of a new records management tool. The deal, valued at $2.3 million, is due to expire in June 2014.
