Over $1B in new ICT funding in MYEFO, with more to come before election

The traditional pre-Christmas Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) includes well over a billion dollars in new ICT related funding, maintaining a steady level of digital technology investment in the lead up to the next election. However, much of it has already been announced during the seven months since the May Budget.

Many of the new initiatives fall under a $250 million package dedicated to backing up the government’s Digital Economy Strategyreleased in May 2021, with Minister Jane Hume dispersing the extra cash across several portfolios.
