Procurement Supplier Information Sessions for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games are set to be held in June 2014.

The sessions will provide suppliers with information on the current tender opportunities and the forward procurement plan and schedule.

The Commonwealth Games is set to inject almost $2 billion into Queensland’s economy, creating over 30,000 jobs. While construction and tourism will receive a large slice of that, ICT will also be a beneficiary.

According to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation’s 2012-13 Annual Report, an ICT Strategy and Delivery Plan has been developed. It is “focused on the delivery of corporate services and establishing the baseline technology principles to be applied to the design and implementation of technology services. “

IT News reports that finance, procurement and payroll solutions are due to be operational by July 2014, with the remainder of new systems set to go live no later than December 2014.

Supplier Information Sessions will be held on the following dates:

Gold Coast

  • Tuesday 17 June
  • Thursday 26 June

Brisbane

  • Thursday 19 June
  • Tuesday 24 June
