An Approach to Market will issue to replace South Australia’s Active Devices Panel with a Network Devices Panel. The Active Devices Panel had a total contract value (TCV) of $34 million in the period 1 November 2010 and 30 June 2014, according to a spokesperson from the Department of Premier and Cabinet. This TCV was shared between suppliers AlphaWest, Data#3, Dimension Data, HP and NEC Australia in 2010, but the agency refused to provide more detailed information about the years following, citing commercial confidentiality reasons.
The Active Devices Panel expires on 31 July 2015. The new Panel will be for “hardware and components used to connect and manage State Networks (wired or wireless),” according to a Request for Tender issued by the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
The current Original Equipment Manufacturers available through the Active Devices panel include: Cisco; Juniper; F5; Riverbed; HP; Linksys; Checkpoint; Infoblox; Fortinet; Crossbeam; Bluecoat; Tandberg; RSA; Brocade; and Aruba, according to the spokesperson.
In a separate process, the Managed Network Services contract, previously held by Dimension Data was not being extended and the spokesperson confirmed that negations with the preferred respondent are nearing completion. The completion date for the Managed Network Services contract is 30 September 2014.
“The new arrangements are expected to commence at the current expiry date of the Managed Network Services contract,” according to the spokesperson.
