The contract, which runs between 9 September 2016 and 4 June 2017, is EMC’s sixth federal government contract under the company name EMC for the 2016-17 financial year. EMC completed their merger with Dell on 7 September 2016.

According to Intermedium's Analyse IT tool, Defence has signed 759 ICT-related contracts in 2016-17 so far, totalling $693.9 million. (This does not include the latest contract with EMC Australia.)
