Victoria's multi-billion dollar infrastructure budget will drive future ICT investments

Victoria’s pre-election 2022-23 budget has modest digital and ICT investments peppered throughout, but the major area of opportunity this year is for suppliers capable of supporting the Labor Government’s giant infrastructure program. This opportunity is expected to include the supply of ICT technologies to support the new infrastructure with digitised services and emerging tech capabilities. 

The infrastructure program allocated $6.7 billion for new projects to primarily extend health and education capabilities. While ICT requirements are only a small portion of the entire infrastructure budget, the scale of activity will generate significant future year opportunities either with the companies contracted to build the infrastructure, or with the relevant agencies.
