Will West Deliver on Digital Promise?

Western Australia’s 9 September Budget is likely to contain significant digital transformation funding if Intermedium has read the ‘tea leaves’ correctly. 

Western Australia’s digital transformation has lagged well behind other states and territories for several years, but it appears set to start catching up with the release of its revised Digital Strategy for the Western Australian Government (2021-2025).

WA was ranked last in Intermedium’s February 2021 Digital Government Readiness Indicator (DGRI), due to an outdated digital strategy, a lack of new digital initiative funding, and slow progress on citizen-centric digital service delivery.
