Wayne Hunter

Wayne Hunter is currently the Director, Business Transformation and Programs in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC). In this role Wayne leads a small team, focussing on delivering public value through the implementation of transformational programs, both within DPC and more broadly across the South Australian Government. As part of this role, Wayne is also implementing a fresh approach to project governance and delivery, focussing on fostering a more Agile environment to enable projects to be delivered in a user-centric and iterative manner.

After growing up in country South Australia, Wayne joined the state government in the Berri Office of Consumer and Business Affairs before moving to Adelaide where he undertook various regulatory roles within the Attorney General’s Department.

More recently Wayne was the Director of Service SA where he implemented various reforms, including the Service SA Online Reform program. This Program has made available over 95% of Service SA payment transactions online and has significantly reduced wait times in Service Centres (-37%) and over the telephone (-71%).

Wayne is passionate about delivering high quality public services that are user-centred and cost-effective for Government. Wayne is currently leading the development of the South Australian Government’s mySA GOV digital licensing initiative, which will enable South Australian’s to digitise physical credentials within a convenient app, increasing convenience for customers while decreasing costs for Government.
