In the medium last week, we alerted readers to an Australian Federal Police (AFP) tender for a panel to meet its IT requirements for the next three - five years.

An industry briefing was held in Canberra last week, and the Department advises that notes from the briefing, with responses to questions, will be posted on the tender site by close of business Tuesday, 23 September.

AFP is a significant purchaser of ICT with contracts ranging from $55m to a peak of $120m over the past five years. In 2006-07, it was the eighth largest agency based on the value of ICT contracts reported.

Preliminary Intermedium figures for the 2007-08 financial year show spending in the last financial year will be close to the average of around $65m.
