In line with its policy to keep industry informed about future opportunities, the Department of Defence has released an outline of steps it plans to achieve with the goal of a combined, seamless NCW force by 2020.

NCW uses modern information technology to link sensors, decision-makers and weapons systems. To improve coordination across the three arms of the Australian Defence Forces, Defence will develop a single information network. The new network will automate the transfer of information, much of which is transferred manually at present.

The Roadmap outlines Defence's future capability requirements, the development path and project milestones. To view the Roadmap please click here.
