Geoscience Australia (GA) partnered with Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the World Bank to release an updated version of InaSAFE 2.0, a software that can predict the social and human impact of natural catastrophes. The free open source software was released worldwide and contains new features which can assist in planning for possible evacuation and emergency response routes.

Australia's Minister Counsellor for Development Cooperation in Indonesia, Jean-Bernard Carrasco, said InaSAFE 2.0 had the ability to work with road data, including a capability to download road information directly from the online mapping tool OpenStreetMap.
