The ICT Strategy Implementation Update 2014-15 will “drive the next phase of implementation in open government, open data, infrastructure and managed services, procurement reform, information management, skills and innovation and ICT investment”, according to NSW Minister for Finance and Services, Dominic Perrottet.  It is part of the government’s move to “accelerating to a truly digital government that is totally focused on the people we serve,” he said on 12 August 2014.

The Minister has encouraged the community to provide feedback on the second update of the NSW Government’s ICT Strategy, which was originally launched in 2012.

“Over the past two years the implementation of the ICT Strategy has laid the groundwork for a transformation in the way we deliver services and improve efficiencies.”

“Only this week, we announced that Service NSW will be moving its Contact Centre operations to a cloud-based environment in a bid to enable a better response and reduce wait times for customers,” said Minister Perrottet.

Mr Perrottet stressed the need to provide opportunities for input on the ICT Strategy Update.

“ICT is a fast changing environment and it is important that Government policy and strategic direction stays relevant and up to date with new technologies and capabilities.”

“Having open and transparent discussions with our stakeholders and the community ensures that we can continue to provide improved services and better value for NSW taxpayers.”

“I’d encourage people to go to the NSW Government’s ‘Have Your Say’ website and provide their feedback about where they want to see our State’s ICT sector heading,” he said.

Public consultation is open until 24 August. For more information and to link through to ‘Have Your Say’ visitwww.finance.nsw.gov.au/ict.
