NSW Human Services, the Super Department which contains NSW Housing, Community Services, Ageing, Disability and Home Care and Juvenile Justice, has created a new position of CIO at the Super Department level.

Kerry Holling, who was previously CIO at NSW Community Services (DoCS), has been appointed to the new position.

It is understood that the Super Department is currently undergoing an operational and organisational redesign.  For the time being, however, it seems that the CIOs of each of the comprising agencies remain in their existing positions.  Holling’s position at DoCS has been temporarily filled by Greg Lansom.

Human Services appears to be further advanced in terms of amalgamation than many of the other Super Departments, with a consolidated website, an organisational redesign underway and a single shared services provider (Businesslink) used by all of the comprising agencies.

The redesign is expected to be complete by the end of June 2010.
