The Australian Taxation Office’s managed network services contract with Optus has been extended by two years to March 2015 and increased in value to $310.9 million from its original $216.9 million.
The Queensland Government has decided to scrap its delayed and significantly over budget travel management IT system and start again, reports the Brisbane Times. The fully integrated portal for hotel, airline and car hire bookings and expense claims was due to be rolled out by 2008 at a cost of of $2.2 million, but has not yet reached 50 per cent completion and has cost $7.69 million to date.
The Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) has signed two contracts worth over $94 million combined for electronic support systems with Exelis Australia, which is a provider of communications, intelligence, command and control systems and services. Both contracts have four-year terms, expiring in July 2017.
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) has selected NEC to provide IT support and maintenance to federal electorate offices in a $5.8 million three-year deal expiring April 2016.
