Transport for NSW (TfNSW) plans to release real-time data for trains and ferries this year following the data being made available for buses, reports iTNews. “Transport for NSW is developing a project to provide real-time information to ferry and light rail customers,” a spokesman told iTnews. In March 2014, real-time transport information was rolled-out across Adelaide’s transport system. The Real-time passenger information system will serve Adelaide Metro with a data set that covers 7,650 bus stops, tram spots and train stations. Queensland’s TransLink has also designed a real-time information system that is being trialled on Clarks Logan City and Blue CityGlider bus services. In addition, Public Transport Victoria (PTV) has developed an app that provides real-time data for all tram stops. In December 2013, PTV approached the market for a vendor to provide bus tracking services.
