In other public sector ICT and digtal news for the 9th of February:

  • The $550 million Connecting Victoria mobile program has entered its second development phase. Up to $230 million is on offer for telcos to improve the state's 4G and 5G coverage. 

  • The South Australian Government offers over $915,000 in funding to three businesses as part of the state’s Innovation Challenge. The challenge aims to transform supply chains and propel economic growth in South Australia. It forms part of EXCITE, the state’s 10-year science and innovation strategy. 

  • Ernst & Young has won a $14.5 million contract to deliver the GovERP project for Services Australia. The project seeks to consolidate and standardise the ERP systems used by Australian Public Service’s (APS) shared service hubs. 

  • The NSW Department of Planning and Environment seeks a chief information security officer (CISO) to lead its newly-formed information security function. The CISO will ensure that information is accessible, usable and secure for staff and the wider community. 

  • The Western Australian Water Corporation has selected local ICT company Empired as its IT services provider for the next seven years. The contract is worth over $59 million, covering digital workplace and infrastructure managed services, service delivery management, and IT services management. 

  • The South Australian Government has launched a $33 million investment into a digital strategy for public schools and preschools. The Digital Guarantee Unit is the centrepiece of this strategy, providing ‘holistic’ support to schools to integrate digital technology into the curriculum.
