The first Service NSW ‘One Stop Shop’ has opened in Kiama on 5 July 2013. The centre is one of 18 planned for rollout across the State by the end of 2013. Service NSW’s facilities will initially provide centralised access to over 800 services offered by Roads and Maritime Services, Fair Trading, and Births, Deaths and Marriages.

NSW Health’s Microsoft Enterprise Agreement with Data#3 has a value of $34 million for 2013-14, a recently published contract has revealed. The agreement guarantees year round software maintenance and support.

NSW Health has also updated its preferred vendor list for the supply of data communication equipment. The list covers the provision of routers, modems, switches and wireless interfaces.

The Fair Work Commission has launched an app to assist users with access to the Commission’s daily hearing list. The app was one of 25 projects listed in the Future Directionsstrategy and will give users details of hearings up to seven days in advance.

The WA Department of Housing has signed an $11.3 million contract with ASG Group for IT managed services, reports CIO magazine. The five year contract covers strategic support and a licensing modernisation solution based on Oracle technology. ASG currently provides finance, HR and payroll managed services to the Department.

The Department of Health and Ageing has signed a $10 million contract with the National E-health Transition Authority for services relating to the introduction of the personally controlled eHealth record system (PCEHR).

The Department of Health and Ageing fell considerably short of its target of 500,000 users by the end of June, with only 397,745 users registered for the PCEHR by 30 June 2013, according to the Australian. There are currently 1500 hospitals and 200 software vendors who are approved to participate in PCEHR.

Queensland Health has signed a two-year contract with UXC Limited for the provision of ICT Systems Integration and Associated Services for the new Queensland Children’s Hospital to be built in South Brisbane. The total building costs of the new hospital are estimated to be $1.5 billion.

Fuji Xerox has been appointed Managed Print Provider for Queensland Urban Utilities in a three-year contract worth close to $2.6 million. The contract is due to initially expire in May 2016, with further extension options to 2018.

John Doyle has been sworn in as Victoria’s 26th Auditor General. Previously Doyle has held the role of Deputy Auditor General of Western Australia and Auditor General of British Columbia.
