The Queensland Government appears to have delayed its approach to market to establish a whole-of-government ICT services panel, in order to further its consultation with industry. A forward procurement scheduled issued by the Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office (QGCPO) has been updated to advise that an Invitation to Offer (ITO) is “almost” ready for release.
“The QGCPO has agreed to undertake further discussion with the ICT Industry about the project and will provide further notice on the release of the ITO in the near future,” it says.
Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) CIO Jamie MacGregor will depart the agency this week to join the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), after less than a year in the role. MacGregor will answer to ABS CIO Patrick Hadley in his new role as Assistant Statistician, Technology Infrastructure Delivery.
A spokesperson for CASA said that the position will be advertised “in due course”, but could not release details of who would be acting in the CIO role in the interim.
The ABS has recently signed a three-year standing offer agreement with Southern Cross Computers Systems for the supply of computer servers.
In the latest update in its ‘eProjects’ IT services panel, South Australia’s Office of the CIO calculates that a total of $13.7 million worth of work, across 159 separate projects, has gone through the panel since its establishment in May 2007 to December 2012. 36 South Australian agencies have availed themselves of the panel’s services to date.
